In the year 1905, the infamous occultist Aleister Crowley gets more than he bargained for when he travels north to meet his devoted Bradford disciples. Whilst scattering the ashes of her late father at Bolling Hall, a woman is comforted by a mysterious – and unusually knowledgeable – stranger. A Bradford-born businessman, who made his fortune in the south, returns to his native Yorkshire and is astonished by what he sees. A city built on proud northern values, but one which also boasts one of the UK’s youngest and most diverse populations, Bradford is nothing if not a place of immense contrasts.
