Lightland and Other Writing

This text is aimed at giving a brief view of my experiences of what I call disappearing and unreliable sight. Usually, people say ‘I have lost my sight,’ but I refuse, stubbornly, to use this phrase, it sounds as if I had been careless and left my sight on a bus, train or in a shop, like a lost wallet, a book left on a park bench. No, my sight disappeared. It faded away and I have had to learn how to use the small amount of sight to best purpose. These short pieces of writing are a sample of what I experience. One person’s views, one person’s ways of dealing with such extraordinary changes.
